The Department of Housing (DOH) is probably one of the more important branches of the government. Kaldus focuses on a housing first solution. This means that one is not going to benefit from other programs if they don’t have a place to live. For example, a homeless person might be able to receive SNAP, but how are they able to store cold foods if they don’t have a refrigerator. With that said, there is an essential need to provide for housing before any other program can be valuable.
One could reach out to the DOH through a means of contact. These are all solutions to make the most of the programs available. These are also options for reporting potential fraud, and violations to any of the would be programs. Also, since land is limited, all of DOH properties are high rise apartments. This allows more people to be able to live in the same square meters as a collection of houses. Any acquisition of houses will be renovated, and sold to help offset the need for other housing options.

Due to the volume of potential customers that are needed to be supported, the Low Income Housing Project (LIHP) will have its own dedicated telephone number. This will include acquiring a postal mailing address, and get information for a listing of resources. One could apply for any of DOH’s programs by logging into their government portal site.
